Up for auction is a vintage Hammond X5 Portable Organ in good condition
Here is what's included (see photos)
- X5 Organ in built in portable case
- The X5 stand
- The pedal board
- The Leslie cable
- The Leslie switch box
Here is some info regarding the X5
The Hammond X5 is quite possibly the most popular portable organ ever built and has appeared on stages all over the world. It has bass pedals to lower (for funky left hand bass) and rare tuning control. It has been said that the X5 is capable of connecting to two Leslies.
Condition of the X5 and Testing
PLEASE NOTE: This organ is a part of a group of items that belonged to my step dad who was an organist but recently passed. I will do my best to list the details about these items but please note I am selling as is. This X5 is in good working order and not only connects to a Leslie box but has a 1/4 inch jack that connects to a standard amp. For testing this item I connected the X5 to a passport amp and it sounded good. I moved the drawbars and heard the variations. There was some static when switching on and off one of the tonebars however the static went away after I moved the button back and forth a few times. The volume pedal appears to only work when connected to a Leslie as it didn't work when I tried it with the amp. There is a volume knob on the X5 that I used to adjust the volume instead. Pedal keys worked fine as well. Aesthetically speaking, the model number and serial is written inside the case cover and there appears to be a plate missing as shown in the photo.
